Children are the future and hope of the world. And there is a group of “slow flying angels” that are “developmental delayed children”. Although they have functional limitations, they still can be improved through early, immediate and correct rehabilitation until they realize the value of life and “return to society” as a “normal person” who is able to contribute to society.
“Children’s rehabilitation” is not only the participation of therapists and physicians, but more importantly, it allows parents and family members or caregivers to understand and actively participate in the children’s “Rehabilitation Road” and to increase their knowledge and skills in rehabilitation, which inspires parents/family members/caregivers correctly apply children’s rehabilitation knowledge in various activities of daily life to promote children’s physical and mental development and improve the quality of family life.
“Early intervention” is for:
1. Delayed cognitive development
2. Delayed motor development
3. Delayed language and communication development
4. Delayed psychosocial development
5. Children with delayed development of self-care skills and delayed overall development
It is hoped that early detection and proper treatment will be given to reduce the phenomenon of developmental delay, and even eliminate the phenomenon of developmental delay, so that children can increase their ability and opportunities to integrate into society and reduce the burden on the family. Before the age of three is the fastest period of brain cell development in children, if therapy is given at this stage, it can ensure his future development; therefore, 0~3 years old can be said to be the golden critical period of early treatment, the most important purpose is for early detection and early intervention.
