Picture: Comparison of the posture of a severe flat feet patient with and without foot orthotics.

Case study:

A 10 years old boy presented with severe flat feet with postural deviation. As you can see in Picture 1, his left shoulder is more tilted upward than right shoulder. As referring to the red line, his spine is more deviated to the left side. Uneven weight bearing is also presented in the picture.

After he wears the shoes with custom made orthotics (in Picture 2), his shoulder is more balanced and his spine is less deviated and closer to the middle straight red line. His posture becomes more symmetrical, and the weight bearing of both feet are more evenly distributed.
