Bauerfeind GenuTrain® OA

GenuTrain OA is a specialized orthosis (brace) designed specifically for people with knee osteoarthritis (“OA”), especially when pain, cartilage degeneration, or misalignment (varus/valgus) affect one side of the knee more than the other.
It combines compression, adjustable “unloading” (i.e. shifting pressure away from the painful part of the joint), and stabilizing components.
Ideal for
-
Medial or lateral osteoarthritis (i.e. knee pain localized one side)
-
Instability in the knee joint (mediolateral) due to OA or after injuries
-
Unicompartmental cartilage or bone lesions (damage to cartilage in one “compartment” of the knee)
-
Post‑op/after cartilage surgery or meniscus surgery when one side needs unloading relief
Features
-
Adjustable unloading straps shift pressure away from the painful side of the knee (medial or lateral).
-
Stabilizing hinge supports knee alignment and reduces strain from varus or valgus misalignment.
-
BOA® Fit System allows quick, precise tension adjustments—on the go.
-
Breathable 3D-knit fabric provides compression, reduces swelling, and ensures all-day comfort.
-
Comfort zones and finger loops make the brace easy to wear and remove without discomfort.
-
Low-profile design fits discreetly under clothing for everyday use.
-
Optional motion limiters help control knee movement during rehab or recovery.
How it works
The GenuTrain OA uses a 3‑point unloading principle: straps + hinge + compression redistribute load away from the damaged compartment of the knee, reducing pressure, pain, and further joint deterioration. Combined with a breathable knit and adjustable fit, it supports movement while protecting problem areas.
